Artist's Statement

There is beauty in everything. Even in our problems. It’s just a matter of how we look at things. All my artworks are based on the real places and events from my life. Sometimes inspiration is sparked by the fears or melancholy. Art is a tool for processing life, and giving back to the world from the depth of our souls.
— Anastasia P.

Biography

Anastasia began drawing in early childhood. She went to Art School #3, in Kiev, where built strong skills base in academic drawing and painting techniques, composition, and color science. Anastasia developed attention to details and fell in love with watercolor. After 7 years of studying, it became her main media.

The dream to illustrate children books could not stand the battle for profession practicality in Ukraine. The major for Anastasia’s degree was Architecture. Besides the intense architectural curriculum, Anastasia continued painting to earn money. It started as portraits for commissions and grew into creative collaborative “HeART” with fellow students to produce paintings, murals, postcards, and handmade crafts.

University years shaped Ana’s art style, adding 3-dimensional thinking, attention to proportions and perspective to her Artist’s arsenal.

In 2016 Anastasia immigrated to USA, where she joined the fast-paced Residential Architecture sector in San Francisco. Besides design job she created and showcased her art series, "Foggy Kingdom" and "Fun Francisco," in local venues, including Evolved SF and Ingleside galleries. In 2017 Anastasia co-founded the BeART SF community, and actively participated as an events organizer, art teacher and group art shows curation, until 2020.

Currently Anastasia works part time in the architectural firm in California. Her creative projects now span across the ocean, including privately sponsored Art Residency in Berlin in 2023, and prospect illustration deals.
